ECOSEXUAL is a poetic monologue set in the Portuguese Atlantic coast in Algarve about loving and making love with nature. It presents the male body as erotic object and as thinking, feeling subject. Through the senses of taste, touch, smell and sight, the protagonist loses himself in a communion with the natural world.
We come to natural places to escape human thoughts and concerns. But what we discover there is our human nature: not separate from, but a thinking, feeling part of Nature.

I really enjoyed it, it is quite liberating too on some level I feel I am an ecosexual. Kind of jealous because here in the states seems depending where you are there’s no place to be free and have such experiences with nature unless going to a nudist camp. Last night I revisited Eco-sexual. I enjoyed it even more than the first time. I enjoyed the editing, both the sound and the image. I also enjoyed the way you subvert the whole thing by having the protagonist complain about being objectified. Of course this draws us even closer to him. I love the ending too, where he just swims off and merges with the sea. Endings and goodbyes can be painful, but this was very gentle. Best wishes. You’re such a fine craftsman and artist. I look forward to luxuriating in the erotic joys that wait for me in the other films.

I really loved this film. The actor is insanely HOT! Some of the text is very ‘Israeli’. People who were born in Israel are called Sabra (type of cacti) for similar reasons as the text in the film says – desert accustomed, hard and thorny on the outside, soft and full on the inside.

Congratulations, great work. I have seen most of them, Ecosexual being the last one, and I really enjoyed many of them, in particular the ones in your “Mediterranean” cycle. I think you really got the essence of excitement, “calor”, trepidation, loneliness, companionship, sweat, joy and sadness, sun and regenerating water. Love the pace it was cut, the slightly polished / retro / romantic way of filming actually gave some Derek Jarman feel to it. Would love to watch this with my beau in a corner art house cinema then finish with a drink at the bar for a perfect evening. One thing that slightly bugs me was those pieces of clothing (socks and boots) in the shoot when these characters were supposed to be contemporary human incarnations of the ‘god of the wild’.
