DADDIES by Antonio Da Silva.
There is always the first time you are called a Daddy. It’s more than just a question of age. Leather Daddies, Daddy Bears and Daddies that don’t fit into the usual categories. Ten gay men over forties were filmed on Super 8 getting undressed… They talk about their Daddy identity, gay relationships, polyamory, their cock and appetite for sex.
Monogamy and open relationships co-exist in San Francisco as they do everywhere, but nowhere else has so many polyamorous men, men who embrace multiple love in their own personal way within the community.
Antonio Da Silva was in town for the first time to attend Frameline San Francisco LGBT film festival 2013. By the second day of the festival, it became clear to him that he had to shoot some of the men who were filling the iconic Castro cinema and celebrating the final overturn of Proposition 8, the ban on same-sex marriage.
This is a film not just for Daddies and Daddy lovers, but for all the “family”.

I feel sometimes that guys like me (hairy and chubby) are not represented as much as others in media and other outlets. They focus on others with much better bodies than mine. Guys with no hair on their bodies.
I think a film maker like you would be a wonderful candidate to give us a means to express. For a while I did not like my hairy body and wish I had a six pack abs. I know I’m just kinda rambling. Thanks for showing real men and diversity

I truly love your work Antonio. I’ve seen quite a few of your movies but this one is real. Great perspective and very clean point of view about getting older in the gay community.

Ur movie Daddies help a lot of my last relation. it was only after watching it that my ex really got everything I was talking about my sexuality and the way I wanted to grow old in life and I want to thanku for have made it.
